Who is mostly at risk of food allergy?
People with a family history of allergy, atopic and those with previous reactions have unexplained increased risk of food allergy.
How is it diagnosed?
A patient with the above symptoms after eating some food you should see your allergist and confirm the suspected allergy by history, skin tests, blood tests and a controlled exposure tests, as deemed appropriate by this professional.

What is food allergy?
Food allergy is an immune system disorder in which the affected person overreacts to contact, ingestion or inhalation of food.
What are the symptoms?
Reactions can be mild (rash, hives, itching, tearing, eye redness, nasal irritation, cough, asthma, diarrhea, vomiting), severe (difficulty breathing, hypotension, chest tightness, palpitations or dizziness) or very severe (anaphylaxis: whole-body reaction, with fainting, cardiovascular and life threatening), usually after eating a certain food.
