After a few hours in the sun on the beach our skin may be red as a tomato, as happened to the man in the picture above. These burns, besides being harmful to the skin, show us what they are intense sunlight and therefore it is necessary that information carefully to them.

Our skin has a natural protective layer that protects us from ultraviolet radiation called melanin. However, when exposed to too much sun, the melanin pigment is not enough and so after our skin is red and burns us. That is why we must apply the extra protection they give us creams or sunscreens, especially the white-skinned people, who are those with less melanin.

One of the most common mistakes to think that the danger of the sun’s rays just sit on the beach in summer and 40 degrees of heat. While a lesser extent, the sun’s ultraviolet radiation takes effect throughout the year.

In addition to using sunscreen, there are other ways to protect yourself from the sun’s rays. Among them, avoid direct exposure, especially in the time at which the rays are strongest (between 10 am and 5 pm), wear comfortable clothing, preferably fresh and light colors, wear a hat and sunglasses sun and avoiding artificial tanning sunbeds.

Remember that the damage the sun causes the skin is irreversible and cumulative. So, protect yourself now.

Ultraviolet rays, besides being a potential agent for skin cancer, directly harm the health of your skin, and therefore must be very careful with them. On-sun exposure is never a good idea, and take care of the sun and wear sunscreen on beach days are basic skin care.

As usual, there is always some food that you can lend a hand in these little problems. In this case it is red fruits that have been discovered by researchers at the University Hallym Korean, these fruits protect your skin from ultraviolet rays.

This could not have experimented with mice, who were subjected to the action of ultraviolet rays and were smeared on her skin ellagic acid, a compound typical of red fruits. After two months of exposure to ultraviolet radiation, ellagic acid did his.

Mice who had been given the compound suffered fewer wrinkles and inflammation than others, because this acid acts as an antioxidant preventing the destruction of collagen and the body’s inflammatory response, long-term which ends up damaging the skin.

Conclusion: eat berries (blueberries, pomegranates or strawberries) and do not let the sun where there is goal. Put it well but the old painter Apelles: “Ne ultra sutor crépidam” (in Castilian, “The cobbler must not go beyond the shoes”). So do not let the sun out of your sandals and get into your business, ergo, your health.
